Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute -    strives to prevent, detect and eradicate cancer

Brothers Big Sisters -  matches children ages 6-18 with mentors   

Blight Busters - turns vacant and abandoned houses into clean and attractive homes  

Catholic Network of Volunteers  - non-profit membership organization of 200 domestic and international volunteer and lay mission programs

Catholic Social Services - provides a full range of human service for everyone from infants to senior citizens

Capuchin Soup Kitchen - service include meals, clothing, furniture and appliances   

Covenant House - provides shelter and services to children and youth who are homeless or at great risk

Cross-Cultural Solutions  - Volunteer Abroad – work side-by-side with local people and experience another culture like never before.

Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation - providing human services and community development projects primarily in Southwest Detroit

Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries -   programs include emergency shelters, medical detox unit,  transitional housing programs, teen mom's program's, emergency food

FOCUS: Hope -  programs include a food program,  education and training, day care center

Forgotten Harvest -  rescues prepared and perishable food and donates it to emergency food providers.

Gleaners Community Food Bank -  provides surplus donated and low cost food and related personal care products to people in need in southeastern Michigan

Habitat for Humanity -   builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families

Interfaith Youth Core - builds mutual respect and pluralism among young people from different religious traditions by empowering them to work together to serve others

Latino Family Services - programs include HIV testing and counseling, bilingual childcare, parenting classes (313) 841-7380

Make-A-Wish Foundation -   grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions

Mercy Education Project -   providing education and life skill support services for at-risk girls and women in Southwest Detroit

Michigan Humane Society -  provides shelter and care to homeless animals so they can be adopted

Rainbow Connection - granst wishes to Michigan children with life threatening or terminal illnesses.

Salvation Army -  programs include religious services, family counseling, day-care centers, youth activities, and general programs

St. Patrick's Senior Center - congregate meal site, senior activity and wellness facility

Stand Up for Kids - provide emergency supplies, referral resources, mentoring and counseling to homeless, street, runaway, displaced, transitioning foster care and other at-risk youth

The Greening of Detroit -   guiding and inspiring the reforestation of Detroit's neighborhoods, boulevards and parks through tree planting projects and educational programs
